East Valley Water District, California, USA – Operating Groundwater Replenishment supplying 600,000 people

The Sterling Natural Resource Center is a state-of-the-art facility in San Bernardino, California, that is providing a sustainable new water supply to boost the region’s water independence.

Capable of treating up to 8 million gallons (30 million litres) a day, the Sterling Natural Resource Center recharges the local Bunker Hill Groundwater Basin.

The Sterling Natural Resource Center has transformed and enhanced the region’s water supply by creating a new, local source of water for the community and 600,000 residents in the region. The facility is replenishing the groundwater basin with purified recycled water, storing hundreds of millions of gallons of water for dry years.

An Administrative Center is on site with a community picnic area, walking paths, tours and event space for renting.
