Smart Linings For Pipe and Infrastructure

This project trialled lining systems to extend the life of assets, developed decision tools to assist with prioritisation of assets for renewal, built sensors to test key quality control parameters and developed product standards and codes of practice. The products considered are cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) and polymeric spray liners for water mains and calcium aluminate cements and geopolymers for wastewater pipes and assets.

The Fund was established by the Victorian water industry and the Victorian Government in 2002 as a key industry and Government response to the ongoing challenges posed by climate change and water scarcity. In its 15 years of operation the Fund invested over $66M in more than 230 innovative projects across eight research themes.
