Smart Linings For Pipe and Infrastructure
This project trialled lining systems to extend the life of assets, developed decision tools to assist with prioritisation of assets for renewal, built sensors to test key quality control parameters and developed product standards and codes of practice. The products considered are cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) and polymeric spray liners for water mains and calcium aluminate cements and geopolymers for wastewater pipes and assets.

Smart Water Fund
The Smart Water Fund was an applied research vehicle for the Victorian water industry. The Fund was established by the Victorian water industry and the Victorian Government in 2002 as a key industry and Government response to the ongoing challenges posed by climate change and water scarcity. In its 15 years of operation the Fund invested over $66M in more than 230 innovative projects across eight research themes.
Urban Water Research Association of Australia – research catalogue
The Urban Water Research Association of Australia was a research program that produced 154 reports from 1989 to 2000 covering investment in urban water research, including storm-water management, improved methods for pathogen detection, pipe failure prediction, assessing customer expectations and international benchmarking of economic effectiveness of utilities.
