Long Beach, California, USA – Operating treatment plant providing water for Dominguez Gap Barrier

Terminal Island Water Reclamation Plant, around 20 miles south of downtown Los Angeles, was built in 1935 to service the Harbor Area in the City of Los Angeles. The plant has the capability to provide high quality tertiary treatment for up to 30 million gallons (113 million litres) of municipal and industrial flows daily. In 2006, Terminal Island Water Reclamation Plant began producing approximately five million gallons (18 million litres) per day of blended water for delivery to the Dominquez Gap Barrier.
