As part of the national Industry-academic exchange program for water recycling, Professor Karl Linden’s expertise in advanced disinfection and oxidation processes was applied to the Western Corridor Advanced Treatment Scheme in Queensland, and used to help gain approval from the Victorian Department of Health for Melbourne Water’s reuse applications. His contribution to research and education in the area of water reuse was recognised internationally when he was awarded the 2014 WateReuse Person of the year by the US-based WateReuse Association.
